Index exceeded 5 percent in cost between the bid date and the month of actual <br /> asphalt placement. <br /> 5. Change Order No. 5 for $258,792 implemented the Phase 1 "quick build" on West <br /> Las Positas Boulevard, between Hopyard Road and Hacienda Drive, which <br /> converted the shoulder lanes into protected bike lanes and repaired localized <br /> pavement distress that was recommended for repair to improve the safety of the <br /> roadway and bike lanes. The work included 13,000 square feet of pavement <br /> leveling, 17,000 feet of striping improvements, 188 bollards, and adjustment of 5 <br /> existing storm drain inlets and 2 storm drain manholes. An allocation of $300,000 of <br /> funding from the West Las Positas Reconstruction Project, CIP No. 11514, allowed <br /> for the improvements. The expenditures totaled $258,792 with a remaining balance <br /> of $41,208 which is recommended to be returned to the West Las Positas <br /> Boulevard Reconstruction Project, CIP No. 11514. <br /> 6. The balancing change order for ($91,172) was the result of the difference between <br /> the contract quantities constructed and the Engineer's Estimate of quantities in the <br /> bid documents. <br /> Budget <br /> Funding for this project totaled $4,155,994 including $3,839 from CIP No. 20772 and <br /> $300,000 from CIP No. 11514. Expenditures totaled $3,550,376 leaving a balance of <br /> $605,617 of which $41,208 is associated with funding from CIP 11514. Staff <br /> recommends $564,409 of the project balance be transferred to the Annual Street <br /> Resurfacing and Preventative Maintenance Project, CIP No. 23503 and the remaining <br /> project balance of$41,208 be returned to the West Las Positas Boulevard <br /> Reconstruction Project, CIP No. 11514 <br /> The work has been completed to the Director of Engineering's satisfaction and it is <br /> recommended that the project be accepted as complete by the City Council. <br /> Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approved by: <br /> 40-6-0 <br /> Stephen Kirkpatrick Susan Hsieh Gerry Beaudin <br /> Director of Engineering Director of Finance City Manager <br /> Attachment: <br /> 1.
