Talk about money well spent!
Plus the fact that it's concrete guarantees it will have the least amount of maintenance cost over anything else in the
city.
How much maintenance money has been spent on the current park?J
Basically it's a smart investment. The original skateboard park was built in 1995 for$60,000 and it still gets traffic.
Even though it's tiny and no where near todays standards. Quite frankly when it was first being made due to negative
preconceptions it was labeled a "demonstration park"with the idea that it's success would demonstrate the need for a
real sized skateboard park.
Well I think the users, the sport and even the international community(ie the Olympics) have proven the need for real
sized skateboard parks and that the cost is well worth the benefits.
Regards,
Tadashi Yamaoda
