22 City of Pleasanton Operating Budget • FY 2023/24 - FY 2024/25 <br />Callippe Preserve Golf Course <br />Recently named one of the top public courses <br />in the nation, Callippe Preserve provides <br />golfers a challenging 18-hole course, driving <br />range and clubhouse with indoor and outdoor <br />seating. <br />Facility Rentals <br />For those planning a wedding reception, <br />birthday party, meeting, sports tournament, <br />or other event, the City rents several facilities <br />to meet the community’s needs such as <br />gymnasiums, softball fields, the Senior Center, <br />the Amador Theater, the renovated Veterans’ <br />Hall, Callippe Golf Course and the state-of- <br />the-art Firehouse Art Center. <br />Gingerbread Preschool <br />The educational and social experiences at <br />the Gingerbread Preschool gives 2-5 year-old <br />children a great head start before they enter <br />Pleasanton’s nationally recognized K-12 public <br />school system. <br />Parks, Trails and Open Space <br />With several East Bay regional parks within <br />a 10 mile radius, there is ample opportunity <br />to enjoy the natural wonders of the Tri-Valley. <br />Within the city limits are 47 parks with great <br />amenities, miles of trails including a newly <br />dedicated segment of the Iron Horse Trail and <br />numerous acres of open space. The Alviso <br />Adobe Community Park provides visitors with <br />an opportunity to look into Pleasanton’s past. <br />Recreational Activities for the <br />Developmentally Disabled <br />The City’s RADD program offers recreational <br />activities and events designed for <br />developmentally disabled members of the <br />community, ages 15 and up. <br />Sports <br />The City and local sports clubs offer soccer, <br />baseball, basketball, football, tennis, lacrosse, <br />softball, golf, roller hockey, volleyball, bocce <br />and badminton. In addition, Pleasanton <br />features the largest active sports park in <br />northern California, and a public swimming <br />complex with three pools. <br />Youth Services <br />Several departments offer wide ranging <br />activities and services to the community’s <br />youth, such as Mini-Sports for children as <br />young as 3, or serving as an appointed City <br />Commissioner on the Youth Commission <br />(open to middle and high school students). <br />The City also offers scholarships/limited <br />financial assistance to qualified youth to <br />participate in various activities. <br />Library <br />The Pleasanton Public Library encourages <br />reading, learning, and community. <br />Pleasanton’s Library provides access to books, <br />media, the internet, community events and <br />activities. <br />Callippe Golf Course
