CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> May 16, 2023 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY CAZADORO <br /> CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE SYCAMORE AND FOOTHILL <br /> RESERVOIR RESIDUAL CONTROL SYSTEM PROJECT, CIP NO. 20156 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Sycamore and Foothill Reservoir Residual Control System Project was <br /> implemented to address the nitrification water quality issue in the City's water <br /> distribution. The project improves water quality and increases the operational flexibility <br /> and reliability of the water distribution system. The project installed prefabricated <br /> chemical feed and mixing systems at the Sycamore and Foothill water tank reservoirs. <br /> The project also included Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) electrical upgrades to the <br /> sites, conduit, chemical feed piping, site fencing, and other site work necessary for the <br /> installation of the equipment. The City Council awarded this construction contract to <br /> Cazadoro Construction, Inc., on February 16, 2021 . Construction of the project is now <br /> complete and ready for City Council acceptance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 . Accept the project as complete and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of <br /> Completion. <br /> 2. Authorize the release of the retention in the amount of $77,365.84 to Cazadoro <br /> Construction, Inc., 30 days after the recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 3. Authorize the return of the project's balance of $255,584 to the Water <br /> Replacement fund balance (Fund 421). <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for this project totaled $2,030,645. Expenditures total $1 ,775,060, leaving a <br /> balance of$255,584 (see Attachment 1). Staff recommends the remaining balance be <br /> returned to the Water Replacement Fund (Fund 421). <br />
