RESOLUTION NO. 23-1383 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE CALIFORNIA STATE HOMELAND SECURITY <br /> GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $168,000 <br /> WHEREAS, the California State Homeland Security Grant Program provides local and <br /> tribal agencies with funding to prevent acts of terrorism; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Police Department State Homeland Security Grant <br /> application was selected for grant funding, which will be used to fund 16 vehicle barriers and <br /> associated equipment for use during special events and public gatherings. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br /> RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. Authorizes City Manager to accept the California State Homeland Security <br /> Grant Program funds in the amount of$168,000, and execute all necessary documents required <br /> by the grant program. <br /> SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on April 18, 2023. <br /> I, Jocelyn Kwong, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on April 18, 2023, by the <br /> following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Nibert, Testa, Mayor Brown <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Jocelyn Kv,,Jong, City Clerk <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> Daniel G.
