I was on the Energy and Environment Committee (2017-2021) helping to update the city's
Climate Action Plan, and I'm thrilled to be co-leading the effort with my fellow UC Master Gardeners putting
Action E21 (Community Gardens) of CAP 2.0 into action. During my time on the Energy and Environment
Committee, several of us highlighted the value of climate education and community participation in stewarding
our land, and the work being developed at the UC Master Gardener space will support that effort. As a
Master Gardener, I look forward to working with StopWaste and the city to bring a compost hub to the site as
well as growing food for our community. As a 20-year Pleasanton resident living in the neighborhood adjacent
to the site, I've been watching the wildflowers bloom and passerby taking photos of the signage about the
project. I just wanted to express my gratitude for your continual support of the project, and 1 look forward to
seeing this space become a symbol of a resilient and sustainable Pleasanton.
Sincerely,
Terry Chang
i
