24 a. <br />THE CITY OF <br />I <br />-u 111 11 •I• I 111 PLEASANTONc CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />April 18, 2023 <br />Community Development <br />Library and Recreation <br />TITLE: APPROVE THE ALLOCATION OF HOUSING AND HUMAN SERVICES <br />GRANT AND COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL <br />YEAR 2023 GRANT FUNDING CYCLE (CITY FISCAL YEAR 2023/24) <br />SUMMARY <br />The Fiscal Year 2023/24 Housing and Human Services Grant (HHSG) program received <br />30 applications for funding from a range of agencies serving a variety of community <br />needs. The HHSG program distributes funding from the Federal Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and HOME Investment Partnership Program <br />(HOME), the City's Lower Income Housing Funds (UHF), and the City's General Fund. <br />The Community Grant (CG) program, funded by the General Fund, received 16 <br />applications serving the arts/culture and youth categories. Collectively, $1,234,813 would <br />be allocated to various programs. This report summarizes the applications that were <br />received for the HHSG and CG programs and provides a funding recommendation from <br />the respective program advisory commissions and staff to allocate funds for the fiscal <br />year beginning July 1, 2023. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1.As recommended by the Human Services Commission, allocate $660,010 from the <br />sources listed below to fund the applications as presented in Table A of the draft <br />Resolution. <br />General Fund $252,607 <br />CDBG Administration $76,069 <br />CDBG Capital $274,282 <br />CDBG Public Services $57,052 <br />TOTAL $660,010 <br />2.As recommended by the Housing Commission , allocate $487,003 to housing related <br />projects as listed in Table A of the draft Resolution. <br />Lower Income HousinQ Fund $354,348 <br />HOME Fund $125,000 <br />HOME Administration $7,655 <br />TOTAL $487,003
