Ordinance No.2245 <br /> Page 36 of 37 <br /> 124. ROOT CONTROL BARRIER: The applicant shall provide root control barriers and 4-inch <br /> perforated pipe for all trees located within 8-feet of pavement or other hardscape, <br /> determined by the City Landscape Architect. Root barriers shall be located along the <br /> edge of the pavement wherever the tree is within 8-feet of pavement or hardscape. <br /> Information and details shall be included in the landscape plan submittal for review and <br /> approval by the Landscape Architecture Division. <br /> 125. TREE PRUNING: Pruning shall be conducted by a certified arborist familiar with the <br /> International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) pruning guidelines and shall comply with the <br /> guidelines established by the ISA, Tree Pruning Guidelines, current edition, to maintain <br /> the health of the trees. <br /> 126. TREE PROTECTION FENCING: Prior to issuance of a grading or building permit, the <br /> applicant shall install temporary 6-foot-tall chain-link fencing (or other fence type <br /> acceptable to the Landscape Architecture Division) outside of the existing tree drip lines. <br /> The location of the tree protection fencing shall be shown on the demolition plans (if <br /> applicable), grading, building, and/or landscape plans. The fencing shall remain in place <br /> until final landscape inspection by the Landscape Architecture Division. Removal of such <br /> fencing prior to approval may result in a "stop work order." <br /> OPERATIONS SERVICES DEPARTMENT— ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES/UTILITIES <br /> DIVISION — 925-931-5500 <br /> 127. SEWER LINE: The sewer line shall be private from the new manhole on Stoneridge Mall <br /> Road into the development. Prior to building permit submittal, the project plans shall be <br /> revised to reflect this requirement. <br /> 128. BACKFLOW PREVENTION ASSEMBLIES: Backflow preventer assemblies shall be <br /> designed and installed in accordance with current City Standards 704, 705, 706; State <br /> Health and Safety Code; Title 17; and as required by the Director of Operations and <br /> Water Utilities. All backflow preventer assemblies shall be tested and certified by a City <br /> approved tester with the certification submitted to the City's contractor, Aqua Backflow. <br /> Testing will be performed at the time City water is turned on to the site. If an existing <br /> backflow preventer is on the site it shall be tested and certified by an approved tester <br /> with the certification submitted to the City's contractor, Aqua Backflow, before project <br /> water is drawn through it. An all-weather cover shall be placed over all backflow <br /> prevention assemblies 4 inch and smaller. <br /> 129. FOG PROGRAM: All new food service establishments (FSEs) and all existing food <br /> service establishments with a building permit valuation of$50,000 or more shall obtain a <br /> wastewater discharge permit from the Director of Operations and Water Utilities and <br /> comply with the grease interceptor requirements as set forth in PMC Section 15.44. All <br /> other FSEs shall at a minimum comply with the grease trap and wastewater discharge <br /> permit requirements as set forth in PMC Section 15.44. (Note to author.- only applicable <br /> for restaurant and food uses— delete if not used.) <br />
