MILITARY EQUIPMENT USE REPORT 2022 <br /> Armored Rescue Vehicle (ARV) <br /> Our ARV was utilized a total of 11 times between January 1st, 2022,thru December 31st, 2022: <br /> Authorized usages: <br /> • Safely address an individual who displays self-destructive, dangerous, or combative <br /> behavior. <br /> • Safely address an armed, or potentially armed, or violent individual. <br /> • Circumstances where a tactical advantage can be obtained. <br /> • Situations where officers utilized de-escalation techniques. <br /> • Safely rescue citizens and first responders during armed confrontations and violence. <br /> Unauthorized usages: <br /> • There have been zero (0) reported violations of the military equipment use policy <br /> from January 1, 2022,through December 21, 2022. <br /> Unmanned, remotely piloted, powered aerial or ground vehicles <br /> Unmanned, remotely piloted, powered aerial or ground vehicles were utilized a total of 18 times <br /> between January 1st, 2022,thru December 31st, 2022. This includes both robots and drones. The <br /> department does not own drones and were requested from another agency: <br /> • Drones were utilized 14 times. <br /> • Robots were utilized 4 times. <br /> Authorized usages: <br /> • Safely address an individual who displays self-destructive, dangerous,or combative <br /> behavior. <br /> • Safely address an armed, or potentially armed, or violent individual. <br /> • Circumstances where a tactical advantage can be obtained. <br /> • Situations where officers utilized de-escalation techniques. <br /> • Limited to major collision investigations. <br /> • Search for missing persons. <br /> • Natural disaster management. <br /> • Crime scene photography <br /> Unauthorized usages: <br /> • There have been zero (0) reported violations of the military equipment use policy <br /> from January 1, 2022,through December 21, 2022. <br /> Less Lethal Shotgun <br /> Less Lethal Shotguns were utilized a total of two times between January 1st, 2022,thru December <br /> 31st, 2022: <br /> 12 <br />
