IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 475 <br /> <br /> AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 358 (SUBDIVISIONS), <br /> REQUIRING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES IN SUBDIVISIONS <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby ordain <br /> as follows: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. Section 8.01 (9) of Ordinance No. 358, adopted <br />March 4, 1963, regulating subdivisions within the City of <br />Pleasanton, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section 8.01(9). PUBLIC UTILITIES: COMMUNICATIONS, <br /> ELECTRIC POWER AND LIGHT. <br /> <br /> "All telephone, telegraph, communications, electric <br /> power and light utilities shall be installed underground, <br /> with pad-mounted transformers for electric power, and all <br /> such installations shall be in the public street right-of- <br /> way or public service easement, unless another method of <br /> installation is approved by the Planning Commission at the <br /> time of approval of the Tentative Subdivision Map. Such <br /> determination by the Planning Commission may be initiated <br /> either by the Planning Commission or the subdivider, and <br /> the findings of the Planning Commission shall be based <br /> upon economic and practical feasibility and the best <br /> interests of the public health, safety and welfare." <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in "THE <br />TIMES", a newspaper of general circulation published within the <br />City, and shall become effective thirty days after date of <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> INTRODUCED at a regular meeting of the City Council on <br />December 5, 1966. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council on <br /> <br />December 12, 1966, by the following vote: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Gerton, Rega, Reid and Harding <br /> <br /> NOES: None <br /> <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Long <br /> <br />ATTEST: WARREN R.
