Window Design <br />Window design should be used to enrich the architecture of the building and to organi ze th e fa9ade. <br />Recessed o, "Punched " Window Trimmed Window <br />Fig . 15 : Window Design Types <br />Development Standards <br />All Housing Si te Development <br />83 .1 Each window shall either be recessed ("punched") a m inimum of two inches from the plane of <br />the exterior buildi ng wall or shall provide durable trims that project at least two inches from the <br />face of the building. <br />83.2 Each individua l building shall provide differi ng window sizes to emphasize the hierarchy of <br />living and public spaces . A minimum of one different window size shall be introduced for each <br />I 00 feet of proposed building perimeter length. <br />83.3 A minimum of50 percent of windows on south-facing elevations shall be provided with sun <br />shading. Sun shading can be provided by using at least one of the following: <br />a . By awnings projecting a minimum of 18 inches. <br />b . By window openings recessed a mi n imum of four inc hes from the face of wall. <br />c.
