Objectjye Desiga standards toe Housing s;tes <br />A3. Public Streets <br />The design of the public frontage of each project will vary depending on location and character of the <br />street. The following are objective minimum standards for all projects, but applicants should strive to <br />relate to adjacent conditions as appropriate . <br />Pl ---' <br />lllustrat10n of bu11d l s <br />taner than 4 stones <br />Fig. 6: P ub lic Str ee t Fron tage Standards <br />Development Standards : <br />All Housin g Site Develop m ent <br />A3.1 Public streets shall have a minimum six-foot-wide tree planting strip and a s ix foot wide <br />sidewalk on each side of the street. Where a meandering sidewalk is proposed, the planting strip <br />shall be allowed to meet an average six-foot width . <br />A3 .3 Low landscape walls or fences, not to exceed three feet in height , shall be allowed to encroach <br />within Public Street setbacks to a maximum of two feet from back of sidewalk. Residential <br />porches and terraces shall be allowed to encroach up to five feet into any setback. <br />A3.4 Public streets shall be designed to include planned improvements in the <br />Pleas anton Ped estrian and Bicy cle Mast er Plan . <br />A3.5 Street trees shall be planted at an average spacing of25 feet with no individual spacing <br />exceeding 40 feet. <br />Multifam ily Developmen t <br />A3.6 Front setbacks on Public Street frontages shall comply with the following: <br />a. Ground -floor residential front setbacks shall be ten feet minimum from the back of sidewalk. <br />Development taller than three stories shall provide 15 feet to allow for a row of trees <br />between the back of sidewalk and building. <br />b. Buildings with retail or commercial at the ground floor shall be set back at least ten feet <br />from back of sidewalk. <br />A3 .7 Pedestrian -scaled lighting shall be provided on all public streets in compliance with Section <br />AIO . <br />City of Pleasanton -27 -DRAFT: January 4 , 2023
