City of Pleasanton—Stoneridge Mall Residential Project
CEQA Checklist Section 15183 Checklist/15164 Addendum

72 FirstCarbon Solutions
Https://adecinnovations.sharepoint.com/sites/PublicationsSite/Shared Documents/Publications/Client (PN-JN)/2148/21480017/Consistency Checklist/21480017 Stoneridge Mall Residential Project Checklist
Addendum_Updated.docx
Analysis of Proposed Project
Project Construction
Diesel exhaust and ROGs would be emitted during construction of the proposed project, which are
objectionable to some; however, emissions would disperse rapidly from the project site and
therefore would not create objectionable odors affecting a substantial number of people. As such,
construction odor impacts would be less than significant. Therefore, the proposed project would not
result in any peculiar effects and would not result in new or more severe impacts related to odors
during project construction than what was previously analyzed in the Prior EIR.
Project Operation
Proposed Project as an Odor Generator
Land uses typically associated with odors include wastewater treatment facilities, waste disposal
facilities, agricultural operations, or other operations listed in Table 6. The proposed project would
involve the development of residences whose operations could lead to odors from associated
laundry cleaning, vehicle exhaust, outdoor cooking, and waste disposal. However, such odors
generated by project operation would be small in quantity and duration and would not pose an
objectionable odor impact to existing and future receptors.
Table 6: Odor Screening Distances
Land Use/Type of Operation Project Screening Distance
Wastewater Treatment Plant 2 miles
Wastewater Pumping Facilities 1 mile
Sanitary Landfill 2 miles
Transfer Station 1 mile
Composting Facility 1 mile
Petroleum Refinery 2 miles
Asphalt Batch Plant 2 miles
Chemical Manufacturing 2 miles
Fiberglass Manufacturing 1 mile
Painting/Coating Operations 1 mile
Rendering Plant 2 miles
Coffee Roaster 1 mile
Food Processing Facility 1 mile
Confined Animal Facility/Feed Lot/Dairy 1 mile
Green Waste and Recycling Operations 1 mile
Source: Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD). 2017.
