City of Pleasanton—Stoneridge Mall Residential Project
Section 15183 Checklist/15164 Addendum CEQA Checklist

FirstCarbon Solutions 99
Https://adecinnovations.sharepoint.com/sites/PublicationsSite/Shared Documents/Publications/Client (PN-JN)/2148/21480017/Consistency Checklist/21480017 Stoneridge Mall Residential Project Checklist
Addendum_Updated.docx
Adherence to the soil and foundation support parameters in Chapters 16, and 18 of the CBC and the
grading requirements in Chapter 18 of the CBC, as required by City and State law, would further
ensure the maximum practicable protection available from ground failure under static or dynamic
conditions for structures and their associated trenches, temporary slopes and foundations.
Additionally, as part of the City’s standard practice, the proposed project would be required to
adhere to seismic design standards and General Plan Goal 2, Policy 5, which the General Plan
concluded would be sufficient to reduce impacts to less than significant. Impacts would continue to
be less than significant, and no mitigation is necessary, consistent with the Prior EIR. There are no
proposed changes, new circumstances, or new information that would cause new or more severe
impacts.
Therefore, there are no environmental effects that are peculiar to the proposed project or the
parcels on which the proposed project would be located. Impacts would be less than significant and
the proposed project would not result in a new or more severe adverse impact that was not
previously identified in the Prior EIR.
iv) Landslides
Prior EIR Conclusions
The Prior EIR found that the City is in a relatively flat valley surrounded by hills that are subject to
landslide hazards. However, the Prior EIR found that the proposed rezoning sites under the Housing
Element would not expose people or structures on to landslides or mudflows. Additionally, it was
determined that adherence to the foundation support parameters in Chapters 16 and 18 of the CBC
and grading requirements therein, in addition to the Pleasanton Municipal Code, would ensure that
future development and associated trenches, temporary slopes, and foundations would minimize
potential landslide hazards. Therefore, the Prior EIR found that potential impact of landslides or
mudflows would be less than significant.
Analysis of Proposed Project
As described above, none of the sites evaluated by the Prior EIR, including the project site, contain
landslide risks. No changes have occurred to the project site that would alter this conclusion.
Impacts would continue to be less than significant, and no mitigation is necessary, consistent with
the Prior EIR. There are no proposed changes, new circumstances, or new information that would
cause new or more severe impacts.
Therefore, there are no environmental effects that are peculiar to the proposed project or the
parcels on which the proposed project would be located. Impacts would be less than significant and
the proposed project would not result in a new or more severe adverse impact that was not
previously identified in the Prior EIR.
