My preference was for version 2A. I feel that
version would allow for building cohesiveness since it would be essentially one big complex on the
northside. Version 2A would shield the mall and amenities from the BART facilities, visually and
physically, but still make BART convenient. With the rise of homelessness and mentally ill population,
who historically like to hang out in parks and plazas by BART, I think we need to take mitigating design
steps to discourage this behavior. By having a residential complex separating the mall proper and BART,
I believe would help alleviate this problem.
Version 2A also allows for a more traditional mall experience on the southside of the complex(parking
and walking to store)while the northside would allow a more modern mixed use mall experience. The
best of both worlds!
As a neighborhood resident, I would not use the open spaces. However, I would appreciate nicely
designed walkways on my way to dining or shopping, but I don't see myself hanging out just to hangout.
Does this submission look like spam?Report it here.
