Pleasanton City Council FARE L L A
January 18, 2023 BRAI.NMARTELii.r
Page 13
While Pleasanton would prefer to meet the January 31 deadline, it should not attempt to
do so by adopting a Housing Element that cannot survive HCD or court scrutiny. It would be
better to be late than to be found to be in violation of state law. For the reasons set forth in this
letter, and our prior comments, the City Council should decline to adopt the proposed Housing
Element in the staff report, and provide direction to staff to identifyadditional realistic sites to be
added to the inventory for rezoning to meet Pleasanton's fair share of the regional need for
housing.
Respectfully submitted,
L.--
Thomas B.
