Objective Design Standards for Housing Sites <br />City of Pleasanton - 20 - DRAFT: December 14, 2022 <br />Multifamily Development <br />A4.8 Internal Streets shall provide through or loop circulation. A maximum of 20 percent or one, <br />whichever is greater, of the total number of Internal Street and Alley segments shall be allowed to <br />terminate in a dead end or turn around. <br />A4.9 Front setbacks on Public Street frontages shall comply with the following: <br />a. Proposed residential buildings shall provide a minimum setback of eight feet from the back of <br />sidewalk to the building face. <br />b. Buildings with retail or commercial at the ground floor and residential buildings taller than three <br />stories shall be set back at least 10 feet from back of sidewalk. <br />A4.10 Individual residential unit garages are prohibited from fronting on Internal Streets. Entrances to <br />common parking facilities shall be allowed. <br />A4.11 Pedestrian-scaled lighting shall be provided on all public streets in compliance with Section A10. <br />A4.12 Each development three acres or larger should provide a minimum of one significant internal street <br />intersection furnished for social interaction using, including but not limited to any combination of: <br />a. benches; <br />b. short term bicycle racks; <br />c. decorative paving; <br />d. seating walls; or <br />e. tables. <br />Design Guidelines <br />All Housing Site Development <br />A4.a High branching trees should be planted to form a canopy and provide shade along streets and drives. <br />A4.b Parallel parking and sidewalks are encouraged on both sides of internal streets. <br /> Page: 24 <br />Author: Steve Subject: Replace Text Date: 12/19/2022 4:33:56 PM These standards are not objective. <br />Attachment 4 - ODS Public Comments - 01-26-23 CC - Page 20
