The intent of this effort is to address
recent changes in State law that seek to streamline and increase housing production, focused
on making approval processes more routine and predictable for developers by creating
objective standards in lieu of discretionary review.
Accordingly, this effort is divided into two components:
•Update to the 2012 Housing DG to modify subjective standards to be objective, and to,
in the future, include sites that are rezoned as part of the current (6th Cycle) Housing
Element Update; and
•Establish objective standards for other types of residential development.
ATTACHMENT 3
Planning Commission
