1 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> — in-1n, 21.121 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PLEASANTON <br /> January 11 , 2023 <br /> City Manager <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION RATIFYING THE CITY MANAGER / DIRECTOR <br /> OF EMERGENCY SERVICES' PROCLAMATION OF THE EXISTENCE OF A <br /> LOCAL EMERGENCY DUE TO SEVERE STORMS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> This item is to ratify the January 9, 2023, Proclamation of the Existence of a Local <br /> Emergency due to severe storms by the City Manager, acting as Director of Emergency <br /> Services pursuant to Pleasanton Municipal Code Chapter 2.44. As the City Council was <br /> not in session when the local emergency was initially proclaimed, the municipal code <br /> requires that the City Council confirm the existence of the local emergency due to the <br /> severe weather events on New Year's Eve and through January 2023. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Adopt a resolution to ratify and confirm the Proclamation of the Existence of a Local <br /> Emergency, as issued by the Director of Emergency Services / City Manager on <br /> January 9, 2023. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> City of Pleasanton and Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department staff have worked in <br /> shifts to respond to fallen trees, flooding, and other health and safety emergency calls, <br /> with supplemental assistance from existing contractors. The City has purchased <br /> supplies to mitigate flooding (i.e., sandbags for the City and the general public) and <br /> other storm impacts.
