Calendar
year 2022 is a critically dry year and is the third dry year in a row. The Zone 7 Water
Agency (Zone 7) State Water Project (SWP) allocation this year is five percent,
following a five percent allocation in 2021, and a 20 percent allocation in 2020. The
Water conservation target of 15 percent reduction has been met for seven consecutive
months: May, June, and July, August, September, October, and November 2022.
Unfortunately, drought conditions continue to persist throughout the region which
supports the continuation of the declaration of a Local Drought Emergency.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the continuation of the Local Drought
Emergency.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
There is no financial impact to continue the Local Drought Emergency.
