EXHIBIT A <br /> Scope of Consultant's Services <br /> To continue to preserve and commemorate the history of Pleasanton and the Livermore <br /> Valley the Museum on Main shall continue its progress that has been made this past <br /> year. <br /> The dollars will be used to help to underwrite staff salaries, public programs, and <br /> supplies, including developing new walking tours that will include art and architecture, <br /> and a self-guided audio tour. The Museum's operating hours have been expanded to <br /> include Tuesdays and opening earlier in the day to accommodate additional foot <br /> traffic. Admission is FREE to allow people of all economic backgrounds to visit. In the <br /> summer, the Museum offers FREE walking tours in several neighborhoods in or close <br /> to our historic downtown. <br /> Funding will be used to support the implementation of the City and School District's <br /> Youth Master Plan through programs specifically geared for preschool, school age <br /> and adolescents/young adults. In the preschool area,the Museum will continue to <br /> offer a new FREE preschool reading program once a month to help promote <br /> children's literacy through books and hands-on activities. FREE Intergenerational <br /> Family Days are also a part of the annual Museum schedule during the summer. <br /> For school age students, the Museum will offer hands-on inductive questioning <br /> education programs for school children. Two travelling trunks will be used in the <br /> classroom. One trunk is for the and grade curriculum that provides an overview of the <br /> community history. The other trunk is for 41 grade and centers on the Gold Rush and <br /> its impact on the region and state. These trunks are full of curriculum, background <br /> information, activities, music,objects, books,clothing,etc.to be used by the <br /> classroom teacher. The Museum will offer a backpack program that will be given to <br /> families to have an intergenerational experience as they travel through town looking <br /> for Phoebe Hearst on her daily errands. <br /> For adolescents/ young adults, the Museum shall continue to provide its junior <br /> volunteer program where students can regularly volunteer at the Museum and <br /> complete their required community volunteer service requirement. <br /> The Museum also offers six to seven temporary exhibits each year that often involve <br /> community collaboration with groups such as the Pleasanton Art League. These <br /> exhibits, some developed in-house on a variety of local topics, and some traveling <br /> exhibits such as Smithsonian or Exhibit Envoy curated content which the Museum <br /> supplements with local elements to ensure relevance to the Pleasanton community. <br /> Multiply by Six Million is a perfect example. This traveling exhibit about survivor <br /> stories of the Holocaust was supplemented with local Holocaust survivor stories by <br /> working with the local synagogue, Temple Beth Emek. <br /> Page 6 of 7 <br />
