CITY OF PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES October 18, 2022 This meeting was conducted in accordance with Governor Newsom's Executive Order N-29-20 and AB 361 COVID-19 pandemic protocols. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Brown called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. from the Council Chamber located at 200 Old Bernal Avenue and via Zoom. Councilmember Testa led the Pledge of Allegiance and provided opening remarks. ROLL CALL Present: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Narum, Testa, Mayor Brown Absent: None AGENDA AMENDMENTS Vice Mayor Arkin requested to continue item 3 to the November 1, 2022 City Council meeting and item 4 to the November 15, 2022 City Council meeting for more time to review the items. MOTION: It was m/s by Arkin/Brown to continue item 3 to November 1, 2022 and item 4 to November 15, 2022. Motion passed by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmembers Arkin, Testa, Mayor Brown Noes: Councilmembers Narum, Balch Absent: None CONSENT CALENDAR City Council 1. Ratify appointments to City Commissions and Committees Recommendation: Ratify the Mayor's appointments to various City commissions and committees. City Attorney 2. Adopt findings regarding public health related to the Covid-19 pandemic to support continued virtual public city meetings per Resolution No. 21-1249 Recommendation: Adopt by minute order the following findings: 1) COVID-19 variants continue to result in illness (including long COVID), isolation, and exposure of others; and 2) Alameda County's Department of Public Health still recommends that six (6) feet of distancing be maintained in workplaces to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Many commissions and committees would normally meet in rooms where there is not sufficient space for such physical distancing due to large membership. 3. Continued to November 1, 2022 - Introduce an ordinance amending Section 2.04.020 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code concerning councilmember salaries
