PLEASANTON RIDGE REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT STAGING AREAS AND TRAILHEADS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING EAST BAY REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT AND CITY OF PLEASANTON THIS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (hereafter "Agreement") is made this ?2..r - day of �. .frt CR2 2016, between the East Bay Regional Park District, a body corporate and politic (hereafter "District") and the City of Pleasanton, a municipal corporation (hereafter "City"). WHEREAS: A. District and City own and hold contiguous parklands on and near Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park ("Ridge") for the purpose of operating and maintaining park and open space lands for public use; and B. District, City and the public will realize benefit from the District and City cooperating in providing District staging areas and trailheads to provide public access to the Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park; and C. District's Land Use Plan for Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park (Adopted July 17, 2012) ("LUP") includes the Garms Staging Area (see LUP Section 4.4.1.2 and Figure 12) and access from Alviso Adobe Park(see LUP Section 4.4.1.3); and D. District also purchased in 2014 the approximately 23 I acre Castleridge property adjacent to Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park and the property includes public access along a driveway that also serves two residential properties; and E. District's development of both the Garms Staging Area and access to the Castleridge property achieves District and City goals of providing access to Plea,anton Ridge, and a sequence of trails to help disperse use at congested start points; and F. City is willing to support District's development of access to the Castleridge property on City property as an alternative to the existing access (hereafter the "Castleridge Trailhead") based on District's commitment to the development of District's Garms Staging Area. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises expressed herein, the parties agree as follows: I
