DEI Overview: MGT & City of Pleasanton &
the Livermore- Pleasanton Fire Department
September 19, 2022
Veronica Thomas
Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations
Via E-mail<vthomas@cityofpleasantonca.gov>
925-931-5488
Dear Ms.Thomas:
Please accept the proposed scope of work that incorporates your recent feedback. I appreciate your
urgency to advance staff diversity, leadership mindset, and establish a genuine culture of equity and
inclusion for the City of Pleasanton (City). I am eager to partner with you to support the City in this
important work at this critical time. As I mentioned on our call, my team here at MGT is thoroughly
familiar with issues related to DEI faced by local and state municipalities as well as small and large
organizations in today's politically charged environment. MGT's considerable experience provides a
distinct advantage in facilitating a best-in-class DEI study, customized to the specific need, culture, and
goals of Pleasanton in order to deliver effective and practical deliverables that produce a meaningful
impact that is sustainable for years to come.
While we are nationally recognized, our team is also experienced with issues related to DEI and
organizational improvement throughout California. We have years of experience in the State including a
DEI assessment for the City of Riverside and the County of Sacramento among many other California-
based projects.
We are excited about the opportunity to work with you and the City of Pleasanton to support your
growth and improvement and look forward to further discussion about this engagement. Please feel
free to contact me if you have any questions and the desire to move forward with a potential project at
215.221.4718 or LBrowne@mgtconsulting.com.
Please review the following pages for more information regarding MGT,the DEI team, and an
explanation of our proposed approach to conducting this work.
Sincerely,
Lamont Browne
Vice President
DEI Solutions
•'.•.
