BACKGROUND <br /> The City entered into purchase order agreements with Robert Half International, Inc. <br /> and Nelson Connects to backfill ongoing vacancies and provide administrative and <br /> accounting support. In May 2022, the department lost one senior accountant,while <br /> another senior accountant served as Interim Financial Services Manager— Budget& <br /> Treasury. In addition,the Financial Services Manager— Accounting went on extended <br /> leave in July 2022. To support the department's workload, the City has been using <br /> temporary staff from both Robert Half International, Inc. and Nelson Connects to allow <br /> full-time staff to focus on day-to-day critical needs. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> It is anticipated the final expense forthe temporary staffing service will exceed the <br /> current purchase orders with Robert Half International, Inc.and Nelson Connects by <br /> $95,000 and $83,000 respectively, by the end of December 2022. To maintain adequate <br /> staffing,the department will need the continued support provided by temporary staff. <br /> The Finance Department entered into two separate purchase order agreements with <br /> Robert Half International, Inc. and Nelson Connects, authorized by the City Manager in <br /> accordance with the City's Purchasing Procedures.The department now needs to add <br /> an additional $95,000 to the purchase order with Robert Half International, Inc.for a <br /> total of $178,000, and add an additional $83,000 to the purchase order with Nelson <br /> Connects fora total of $133,000 to cover the total anticipated expenses for the <br /> temporary staff. <br /> Submitted by: Appr+ ed by: <br /> Susan Hsieh Ge Ty Beaudin <br /> Director of Finance City Manager <br /> Attachment: <br /> 1.
