CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> ALAMED~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING <br />BALLOT INITIATIVE ON TI/ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />on March 2, 2004 the City C~ <br />supporting a Statewide Ballo <br />Government May Take Loca <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />City Resolution No. 04-011 ~ <br />ballot initiative to allow vote <br />confiscated, shifted, diverted <br />operations and responsibilitie <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Legislature has adopted <br /> 2004 ballot; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if adopted, Proposition IA w <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNI <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />Section 3: <br />Section 4: <br /> <br />~F THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />k COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br />',SOLUTION NO. 04-070 <br /> <br />PROPOSITION IA, A STATEWIDE <br />E NOVEMBER 2, 2004 BALLOT <br /> <br />~uncil adopted Resolution No. 04-011, a resolution <br />~ Initiative to Require Voter Approval Before State <br /> Tax Funds; and <br /> <br />xpresses the Council's strong support for a statewide <br /> to decide whether local tax funds may be taken, <br /> ,r otherwise used to fund state government <br />s; and <br /> <br />CA4 placing Proposition lA on the November 2, <br /> <br />.uld limit the State's ability to take local taxes. <br /> <br /> !IL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br /> <br />The City Council herby expresses its support for the passage of State Proposition <br />lA which will be on the November 2, 2004 state ballot. <br /> <br />The City Council and staff am authorized to provide impartial informational <br />materials on the Initiative as ~nay be lawfully provided by the City's <br />representatives; no public funds shall be used to campaign for or against the <br />initiative. <br /> <br />The residents of the City are ~ncouraged to become well informed on Proposition <br />lA and its impacts on local ?d state government. <br /> <br />The City Manager (or City Clerk) is directed to send a copy of this resolution to <br />the Executive Director of the/League of California Cities. <br /> <br /> <br />
