CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NOD 454 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE REGULATING PLACEMENT AND <br /> CONSTRUCTION OF MAIL BOXES, AMENDING <br /> ORDINANCE NOD 440 (UNIFORM BUILDING <br /> ORD INANC E <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby <br />ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 440, adopted March 7, 1966, is <br />hereby amended by adding a paragraph to Section 2 of said <br />ordinance to be numbered and read as follows: <br /> <br /> "2b(2) MAIL BOXES: <br /> <br /> "(a) In the main entrance doors to all business <br /> establishments, there shall be installed a 'slot' <br /> or letter drop. Specifications as to the size <br /> and exact location of such letter drop in such <br /> doors shall be obtained from the Postmaster of <br /> the United States mail at the Post Office of the <br /> City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> "(b) In areas where curbs, gutters and sidewalks <br /> have been constructed along City streets in front <br /> of residential uses, mail boxes shall be either <br /> an integral part of the building or shall be <br /> directly attached thereto. No detached mail boxes <br /> will be permitted in either the front or side <br /> yards." <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in <br />force thirty (30) days after its final passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> INTRODUCED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br />City of Pleasanton on May 2, 1966. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council on <br /> May 9, , 1966, by the following vote: <br /> <br /> AYES: COUNCILMEN GERTON, LONG, REGA AND MAYOR }[ARDING <br /> NOES: NONE <br /> <br /> ABSENT: NONE <br /> <br /> WARREN R.
