Reduce the <br /> minimum hallway requirement (item d above) and require a minimum percentage of <br /> roll-in showers (item p above). <br /> GENERAL PLAN CONFORMITY <br /> The City's General Plan includes the following policies that support the proposed <br /> amendments to the PMC: <br /> Housing Element Attain a variety of housing sizes, types, densities, <br /> Goal 1 designs, and prices which meet the existing and <br /> projected needs of all economic segments of the <br /> community. <br /> Housing Element Promote fair and equal access to housing for all <br /> Policy 42 persons regardless of race, color, religion, gender, <br /> disability, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or <br /> family status. <br /> Housing Element Provide for the special-housing needs of large <br /> Policy 43 households, the elderly, persons with disabilities <br /> including development disabilities, extremely low- <br /> income households, the homeless, farmworkers, <br /> and families with single-parent heads of <br /> households. <br /> Community Character Element Maintain, enhance, and protect the quality, <br /> Policy 17 character, and distinctiveness of residential <br /> neighborhoods. <br /> Community Character Element Promote facilities and activities that accommodate <br /> Policy 23 community and family use and accommodate <br /> persons of all physical abilities. <br /> PUBLIC NOTICE <br /> Notice of this item has been published in The Valley Times and was noted in the <br /> Pleasanton Weekly as an upcoming agenda item for this City Council meeting. Staff <br /> also contacted residential developers in the area to inform them regarding the proposed <br /> ordinance.
