12 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON, <br /> September 20, 2022 <br /> Police <br /> TITLE: INTRODUCE AND WAIVE THE FIRST READING OF AN ORDINANCE <br /> AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2238 APPROVING THE PLEASANTON <br /> POLICE DEPARTMENT'S MILITARY EQUIPMENT USE POLICY AND <br /> APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A COMMAND VEHICLE AND CRIME <br /> SCENE INVESTIGATION VEHICLE FROM LDV, INCORPORATED IN THE <br /> AMOUNT OF $1,326,711 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Police Department seeks approval to purchase a command vehicle and a crime <br /> scene investigation vehicle. Funding for the vehicles will come from existing and future <br /> Citizens' Option for Public Safety (COPS) funds. Purchasing a command vehicle <br /> requires its addition to the Department's list of authorized military equipment per AB <br /> 481 . <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Introduce and waive the first reading of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. <br /> 2238 approving the Pleasanton Police Department's Military Equipment Use <br /> Policy. <br /> 2. Approve the purchase of a command vehicle and crime scene investigation <br /> vehicle from LDV Inc in the amount of $1,326,711. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Existing and future Citizens' Option for Public Safety funds will fund the purchase of the <br /> vehicles and technology. $1 ,326,711 from the Citizens Options for Public Safety <br /> account will be appropriated to purchase the vehicles in the FY 2023/24 budget. <br /> Page 1 of 6 <br />
