N <br />THE CITY OF <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PLEASANTON. <br />September 6, 2022 <br />Human Resources <br />TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PROPOSED PAY SCHEDULE <br />FOR MANAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES <br />SUMMARY <br />Compensation for management and confidential employees is discussed with City <br />Council each year. As managementand confidential employees are not covered under <br />a collective bargaining agreement, recommendations for adjustments are broughtto the <br />City Council for consideration. The California Code of Regulations provision <br />implementing the California Public Employees' Retirement Law requires adoption by a <br />member agency's governing body of pay schedules of its employees. City Council <br />approval of the pay schedules forthis group is being recommended by staff. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a resolution approving a 3 percent increase to the Managementand Confidential <br />control points. <br />Authorize budget amendment in an amount up to $437,000 to allocate funds from the <br />General Fund non -departmental budgetto departmental salary budgets. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The financial impactof the recommended 3 percent increase is approximately $437,000 <br />for fiscal year 2022/2023. As the Livermore -Pleasanton Fire Department is shared by <br />the two cities, approximately $70,000 of the annual costwill be paid by the City of <br />Livermore as part of the cost sharing formula. City of Pleasanton has sufficientfunds set <br />aside for implementing the recommend increase to Managementand Confidential staff <br />in the General Fund Non -Departmental Budget. Based on City Council's approval, the <br />fund will be allocated to departmental salary budgets. <br />
