Used primarily by tactical teams, it is designed to penetrate barriers, such as windows, hollow <br /> core doors, wallboard, and thin plywood. Upon impacting the barrier,the nose cone ruptures and <br /> instantaneously delivers a small chemical payload inside of a structure or vehicle. <br /> Purpose/Authorized Uses:To deploy chemical agents to encourage a suspect to surrender or <br /> disperse. <br /> Fiscal Impacts:The devices were included in the purchase of the 40mm launchers in 2018.They cost <br /> $25 each. <br /> Legal/Procedural Rules Governing Use:All use of force applications are governed by state law <br /> (including Penal Code section 13652) and Pleasanton PD Policy Sections 300 and 308. All chemical <br /> agent deployments except handheld pepper spray and FN 303 deployments require a chemical agents <br /> plan approved by a commander.
