Limitations on this work are detailed below. All work within TPZ areas must be done under the supervision and oversight of the Project Arborist. Civil sheet C1 Grading Plan shows a drain line along the east side of the house and driveway. Work will be within the canopy of trees 21, 31 and 32. Civil sheet C1 Grading Plan shows a storm water detention basin on the south side of the house. Grading is up to the edge of the canopy, and access for work will likely be within the canopy of tree 18. Civil sheet C2 Erosion Control Plan shows extensive placement of silt fence or straw rolls (wattles). Work will occur beneath the canopy of trees 18, 19, 20, 21, 31, 32, 34, 38 and 39. The silt fence detail with native soil backfill is the preferred alternative. The native soil will need to be compacted, but cannot exceed 85 percent bulk density within TPZ areas. The compaction can be done by stepping on soil, or hand tamping. No compaction can be done within TPZ areas during rain events. Should straw rolls be used, we do not recommend live staking. Sheet A1.02 (P) Site Plan indicates mostly cuts for the new driveway and building pads for the new structures. The amount of leveling for the house and for the recessed ADU creates fill soil that is used in the terrace below the house. The excavation for the ADU extends into the TPZ areas of trees 31 and 32. Fill soil extends into the TPZ of tree 21. Any excess excavation tailings cannot be spread out over the TPZ areas. 2222
