Ordinance No. 2238 <br /> Page 2 <br /> D. Prior military equipment use complied with the applicable equipment use policy <br /> (which included equipment now defined as military equipment) that was in effect at the time, or if <br /> prior uses did not comply with the accompanying military equipment use policy, corrective action <br /> has been taken to remedy nonconforming uses and ensure future compliance. <br /> Section 3. Severability. If any part of this ordinance is declared invalid by a court, <br /> such invalidity shall not affect any of the remaining parts. <br /> Section 4. Publication. This ordinance, or a summary prepared by the City Attorney, <br /> shall be published once in a newspaper of general circulation of the City of Pleasanton within <br /> fifteen days after its adoption. <br /> Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its adoption. <br /> The foregoing Ordinance was amended and introduced at a regular meeting of the City <br /> Council of the City of Pleasanton on June 21, 2022. <br /> The following language was added to the end of the "Purpose/Authorized Uses" sections <br /> in the Military Equipment Inventory for the Robotex Avatar III Robot and the Recon Robotics <br /> Throwbot 2 Robot contained in Exhibit A of the Ordinance (excludes use of Armored Rescue <br /> Vehicle): "The Chief of Police may authorize the use at community events and city-sponsored <br /> events." <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Narum, Testa, Mayor Brown <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> The following language was added to the end of the "Purpose/Authorized Uses" section <br /> in the Military Equipment Inventory for the Armored Rescue Vehicle (ARV) contained in Exhibit <br /> A of the Ordinance: "The Chief of Police may authorize the use at community events and city- <br /> sponsored events." <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Balch, Narum, Mayor Brown <br /> Noes: Councilmembers Arkin, Testa <br /> Absent: None <br /> Abstain: None <br /> Karla Brown, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Jocelyn Kwong, City Clerk <br /> APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> Daniel G.
