THE CITY OF 14 <br /> "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON <br /> July 19, 2022 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF THREE TYPE 6 XTREME FIRE ENGINES <br /> FOR LPFD FROM BOISE MOBILE EQUIPMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF <br /> $912,821.80 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department (LPFD) currently operates three Type 6 fire <br /> engines, which are at the end of their service life. All three engines are experiencing <br /> compromised reliability issues, which has led to costly maintenance requirements and <br /> excessive down-time. Therefore, staff is recommending replacing the engines with <br /> current industry standard engines. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the purchase of three Type 6 Xtreme engines to replace the current engines, <br /> through Boise Mobile Equipment (BME) in the amount of $912,821.80, which includes a <br /> 10 percent contingency. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funds are budgeted in the FY 2022/23 Fire Repair and Replacement budget <br /> (51320113-440107) for three engines. The total cost for the three Type 6 engines with a <br /> 10 percent contingency is $912,821.80. <br />
