If an employee is well enough to return to work for the second shift(Operational <br /> Period),they must contact the Staffing Captain between 1900-2000 Hours the <br /> night before the second shift. <br /> I. Vacation(MOU) <br /> NOTE:As outlined in the MOU,vacation must be used in increments of either twenty- four(24) <br /> or twelve (12) hours.When used in twelve (12) hour increments, vacation must be taken from <br /> either 0800-1200 or 2000-0800. <br /> Employees may take less than twenty-four(24)or twelve(12)hours of vacation provided they <br /> find their own their relief.This constitutes a one-one contract, which prohibits the replacement <br /> from being awarded additional hours(Upgrade). <br /> NOTE: As outlined in the MOU, vacation can be canceled at any time provided it is done 24 <br /> Hours prior to the start of the Operational Period. If canceled under (6) days, the employee <br /> must inform the Duty Chief. (Employees are allowed a maximum of 6 Cancelations/Calendar <br /> Year Under 6 Days.) <br /> EXCEPTION: Holiday Staffing—Section IV;Sub-Section J <br /> J. Emergency Relief <br /> 1. Once an employee determines a personal emergency will preclude them from <br /> remaining on-duty,the employee shall inform their supervisor of the emergency. <br /> Contact with the Duty Chief,through the Chain-of-Command,shall be made. <br /> 2. Notification shall include the anticipated time off needed;and whether or not they <br /> will be able to return to work. <br /> 3. The employee may elect to use vacation,secure a trade,or use Family Sick Leave <br /> as outlined in policy. <br /> 4.
