Contractor shall maintain all of its properties, facilities, and equipment used in providing 2097 <br />service under this Agreement in a safe, neat, clean, and operable condition at all times. 2098 <br />B. Cleaning. Vehicles used in the Collection of Solid Waste, Recyclable Materials, and Organic 2099 <br />Materials shall be thoroughly washed and thoroughly steam cleaned a minimum of one (1) time per 2100 <br />week, or more frequently if necessary, so as to present a clean appearance of the exterior and 2101 <br />interior compartment of the vehicle. City may inspect vehicles at any time to determine compliance 2102 <br />with sanitation requirements. Contractor shall make vehicles available to the Alameda County 2103 <br />Health Department for inspection at any frequency it requests. 2104 <br />C. Maintenance. Contractor shall inspect each vehicle daily to ensure that all equipment is operating 2105 <br />properly. Vehicles that are not operating properly shall be taken out of service until they are 2106 <br />repaired and operate properly. Contractor shall perform all scheduled maintenance functions in 2107 <br />accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and schedule. Contractor shall keep accurate 2108 <br />records of all vehicle maintenance, recorded according to date and mileage, and shall make such 2109 <br />records available to the City upon request to the extent necessary to perform the inspections 2110 <br />described in Section 6.7. 2111 <br />D. Painting. All vehicles shall be painted on a regular schedule to maintain a clean, professional, new-2112 <br />like appearance. At any time during the Term, the City may require painting of any vehicle which 2113 <br />does not present a satisfactory appearance and such vehicle shall be painted within thirty (30) 2114 <br />calendar days of the City’s written request. All graffiti shall be removed within forty-eight (48) hours 2115 <br />if such graffiti includes any written or pictorial obscenities and otherwise shall be removed within 2116 <br />five (5) Business Days. 2117 <br />D. Repairs. Contractor shall repair, or arrange for the repair of, all of its vehicles and equipment for 2118 <br />which repairs are needed because of accident, breakdown, or any other cause so as to maintain all 2119 <br />equipment in a neat, clean, safe, and operable condition. If an item of repair is covered by a 2120 <br />warranty, Contractor shall obtain warranty performance. Contractor shall maintain accurate 2121 <br />records of repair, which shall include the date/mileage, nature of repair, and the signature of a 2122 <br />maintenance supervisor that the repair has been properly performed. Repairs shall include repair 2123 <br />of cosmetic dents and damage to vehicles so as to maintain a neat appearance of the equipment. 2124 <br />E. Storage. Contractor shall arrange to store all vehicles and other equipment in safe and secure 2125 <br />location(s) in accordance with City's applicable zoning regulations. 2126 <br />5.15.6 Operation 2127 <br />Vehicles shall be operated in compliance with the California Vehicle Code, and all applicable safety and 2128 <br />local ordinances. Contractor shall not load vehicles in excess of the manufacturer's recommendations or 2129 <br />limitations imposed by State or local weight restrictions on vehicles. The City shall be notified no later 2130 <br />than seventy-two (72) hours after an inspection is performed by the California Highway Patrol under the 2131 <br />California Motor Vehicle Code Section 34501.12 (Maintenance Facility or Terminal Inspection). All records 2132 <br />of periodic inspections of vehicles to comply with California Motor Vehicle Code Section 34505.5 shall be 2133 <br />available for inspection by City. 2134
