products with lower quantities of these metals and to vendors with established <br />lead and mercury recovery programs. <br />6.7 All fluorescent lamps and batteries will be recycled. <br />6.8 Specify that desktop computers, notebooks, and monitors purchased meet all <br />Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) environmental <br />criteria designated as "required" as contained in the IEEE 1680 Standard for the <br />Environmental Assessment of Personal Computer Products. <br />6.9 When replacing vehicles, consider less -polluting alternatives to diesel such as <br />compressed natural gas, bio -based fuels, hybrids, electric batteries, and fuel cells, <br />as available. <br />7. Forest Conservation Products <br />7.1 To the greatest extent practicable, give preference to wood products that are certified <br />to be sustainably harvested by a comprehensive, performance-based certification <br />system. The certification system shall include independent third -party audits, with <br />standards equivalent to, or stricter than, those of the Forest Stewardship Council <br />certification (https://fsc.org/en/governance-strategy#global-leadership-structure). <br />7.2 Encourage the purchase or use of previously used or salvaged wood and wood <br />products whenever practical. <br />8. Recovered Organic Waste Products <br />8.1 Procurement Tar -get <br />8.1.1 City will annually procure for use or giveaway a quantity of Compost, <br />SB 1383 Eligible Mulch, Electricity Procured from Biomass <br />Conversion, and/or Renewable Gas that meets or exceeds its Annual <br />Recovered Organic Waste Product Procurement Target. To be eligible <br />to meet the Annual Recovered Organic Waste Product Procurement <br />Target, products must meet the criteria included in their respective <br />defmition in Appendix A.1 of this Policy. <br />8.2 R uirernents for City De ar#ments and Direct Service Providers <br />8.2.2. Renewable Gas procurement (used for fuel for transportation, <br />electricity, or heating applications). If the City procures Renewable Gas or <br />requires a direct service provider to procure Renewable Gas, the City or its <br />Direct Service Provider shall: <br />8.2.2.1.
