CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO o 433 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE DEFINING BICYCLES, AMENDING <br /> E <br /> ORDINANCE NO o 425 (BICYCLE LIC NSES) <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby <br /> <br />ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 425 (Bicycle Licenses) is hereby <br />amended by adding Section 1.5, to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "SECTION 1.5. As used above, a bicycle is defined <br /> <br /> to include any device propelled by human power upon which <br /> any person may ride, having two tandem wheels, either of <br /> which is over sixteen inches in diameter." <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 425 (Bicycle Licenses) <br /> <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "SECTION 2. ISSUANCE. The City, acting through its <br /> authorized officers, shall issue, upon written application, <br /> bicycle licenses which shall be effective from January 1, <br /> 1966. Said licenses shall be issued for each calendar year, <br /> coramencing on the first day of January of each of said <br /> calendar years. When issued, the license sb. all entitle the <br /> licensee to operate such bicycle for which said license <br /> has been issued, upon all the streets, alleys and public <br /> highways in the City of Pleasanton." <br /> <br /> SECTION 3o PUBLISHING. This Ordinance shall be published <br /> <br />once in "THE TIMES", a newspaper of general circulation published <br />in the City of Pleasanton, which newspaper is hereby designated <br />for that purpose, and shall take effect thirty days from date <br />of adopt ion. <br /> <br /> INTRODUCED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the <br /> <br />City of Pleasanton on November 22, 1965. <br /> <br /> - 1 - <br /> <br /> <br />
