BACKGROUND
The Support Services Division is responsible for all furniture purchases for public,
government, and recreation facilities. The City's purchasing policy assigns the task of
ensuring furnishings meet the facility standards and quality standards of the City of
Pleasanton to the Support Services Division. All furniture purchases are approved and
procured by the division to ensure a single point of contact throughout the process.
In March 2021, the Operations Services Department conducted a Request for Bids
(RFB) for Commercial Interior and Office Furnishing Services. One bid proposal was
received by Creative Supports, Inc. In July 2021, the City entered into an agreement
with Creative Supports, Inc. to perform the services of design, replace or install any
office furniture, cubicles, modular furniture or space planning within the City's buildings
and structures.
DISCUSSION
The current fiscal year's purchases include the following: all new workstations for a
substantial portion of the Planning Division, workstations for the Utilities Lead Worker
positions, breakroom furnishings, police conference room table and chairs and
miscellaneous furnishings for the library. Based on the funding needed for the current
and proposed projects, staff recommends amending the agreement with Creative
Supports, Inc. for an additional $90,000 for a not -to -exceed total cumulative amount of
$180,000 through FY 2023/24.
Submitted by:
Kathleen Yurchak
Director of Operations and
Water Utilities
Fiscal Review:
Mahin Shah
Interim Director
of Finance
Approved by:
& /)/tt-
Brian Dolan
Interim City Manager
Attachment:
1.
