12 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL-E ASANTON. <br /> April 19, 2022 <br /> Human Resources <br /> TITLE: APPROVE PURCHASE ORDER BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AND STANFORD HEALTH CARE VALLEYCARE FOR COVID-19 TESTS, <br /> PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL EXAMS, AND OTHER SIMILAR SERVICES <br /> IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $200,000 FOR THE REMAINING <br /> 2021/22 FISCAL YEAR <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton (City) uses Stanford Health Care ValleyCare (ValleyCare) for <br /> occupational health services for all employees and pre-employment medical exams for <br /> finalist candidates in the Police Department, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, <br /> and certain positions in the Operations Services Department. On July 1, 2021 , the City <br /> issued a purchase order in the amount of $100,000 to include COVID-19 testing as a <br /> pre-employment requirement and for employees experiencing symptoms of or having <br /> been exposed to COVID-19. The City's needs for these services have exceeded the <br /> current $100,000 purchase order. The proposed amendment of this purchase order to <br /> an amount not to exceed $200,000 is anticipated to accommodate all employee <br /> COVID-19 testing needs and routine ValleyCare services through June 30, 2022. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends City Council approve an amendment to the purchase order between <br /> the City and ValleyCare in an amount not to exceed $200,000 for employee COVID-19 <br /> assessment and testing and routine occupational health services through <br /> June 30, 2022. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> To date, the costs of COVID-19 assessment and testing have exceeded the current <br /> purchase order and is anticipated to be up to $200,000 by the end of FY 2021/22. The <br /> proposed $100,000 increase to the purchase order will be allocated from the General <br /> Fund contingency budget for FY 2021/22. <br />
