r;,C"TVVE ZDrJ E
The southern portion of the park features the active recreation space. A challenge course includes
obstacles that are designed to connect people of all ages and backgrounds together. These courses
create an outdoor space to get fit and spark friendly competition. A large circular turf area serves as a
passive recreation space or viewing area for the small, raised stage structure. This stage offers a flexible
area for both picnicking and small events such as plays and small band performances. Artistic structures
with colorful shadows decorate this space and provide shade. Adjacent to this area is the Crescent Plaza
featuring game tables and an inclusive bankshot basketball court.
A medium group picnic area is located beneath the existing pistache tree grove and provides picnicking
at the southern end of the playground. This area is adjacent to the walking loop that travels around the
perimeter of the playground. Three laps around this loop is equal to one mile. Fitness equipment nodes
are located along the northeast edge of this path to enhance the exercise experience.
\ .eftsb
Fig. # 16 Enlargement of Active Zone
48 PLEASANTON ALL -ABILITIES PLAYGROUND
