CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 412 AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 309 (ZONING ORDINANCE), ESTABLISHING CERTAIN RESTRICTIONS ON GRANTING OF VARIANCES. The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 309 (Zoning Ordinance) adopted April 25, 1960, is hereby amended as follows: Section 19.1000 is hereby amended to read as follow: "19.1000 Variances. The purpose of the variance is to allow variation from the strict application of the terms of this ordinance where by reason of the exceptional narrowness, shallowness or unusual shape of a specific piece of property on the effective date of this ordinance, or by reason of exceptional topographic conditions, or other extraordinanry situation or condition of such piece of property, or of the use or development of~ property n qu stion, t e'l teral en orcement of th requirements of this ordinance would involve this ordinance. In no case shall a variance be granted so as to permit a land use which is not a permitted use in the particular zoning district where the property is situated." SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in "THE TIMES", a newspaper of general circulation published within the city, and shall be effective thirty (30) days from the date of adoption. ?
