CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 04-049 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 04-045, TO ESTABLISH <br /> A REVISED FILING FEE FOR THE NOVEMBER 2, 2004 <br /> MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 04-045 at its meeting of June 15, 2004, <br /> establishing certain policies for the November 2, 2004 Municipal Election and <br /> requesting consolidation with the Statewide General Election; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council considered the options available pertaining to the length of the <br /> candidates' statements and setting rules and regulations for mailing additional <br /> materials; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City Council set the filing fee at $731 for the cost of printing and mailing the <br /> candidates Statement of Qualifications, which is payable at the time of filing the <br /> nomination paper; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cost of $731 includes the mailing costs and the cost to translate the Statement <br /> of Qualifications into Spanish and Chinese as required by federal law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, past practice has been for the City itself to pay for the mailing and translation <br /> costs. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Resolution No. 04-045 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> a. Candidates will be charged $240.00 for the cost of printing their Statement <br /> of Qualifications, payable at the time of filing the nomination papers. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
