11
THE CITY OF
A.a
=I - 21:11 "' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pL£ASANTON.
March 1, 2022
Engineering
TITLE: ALLOCATE FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $34,557 FROM THE STREETS-
CIP GENERAL FUND (FUND 211) AND APPROVE THE REIMBURSEMENT
AGREEMENT FOR ROADWAY WIDENING AT 3520 DENNIS DRIVE
SUMMARY
In 2006, the City approved Parcel Map 8291 (PM 8291), a two-lot subdivision between
Martin Avenue and Dennis Drive. In lieu of improving the subdivision frontage at 3520
Dennis Drive to full roadway width as part of their improvements, the subdivider was
obligated to deposit with the City the 2006 estimated cost of$26,748 for the street
widening (with interest earned the deposit has increased to $35,443). On November 4,
2021, City Council approved Ordinance No. 2223, PUD-140, and Vesting Tentative
Parcel Map 11110 (VTPM 11110) for a two-lot subdivision between Martin Avenue and
Dennis Drive, immediately south of and abutting PM 8291. PUD-140 requires the
subdivider to widen the Dennis Drive frontage of their property.
Since roadway widening work is required along the frontage of both 3520 Dennis Drive
and the frontage of VTPM 11110 and widening both sections will complete the needed
widening on Dennis Drive, the VTPM 11110 subdivider has agreed to widen both
frontages as part of their development. The subdivider has requested, however, to be
reimbursed the cost of the widening along 3520 Dennis Drive, currently estimated at
$70,000. In addition to the $35,443 currently available from the 2006 deposit, $34,557 is
needed to reimburse the current estimated cost of widening.
RECOMMENDATION
1 . Authorize the City Engineer to enter into a reimbursement agreement with the VTPM
11110 subdivider to improve the frontage of 3520 Dennis Drive utilizing funding
previously submitted by the PM 8291 subdivider.
2. Authorize a funding allocation in the amount of$34,557 from the Streets CIP —
General Fund (Fund 211) to supplement the previously collected funding for
improvements to the frontage of 3520 Dennis Drive such that the work is fully
funded.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
An allocation is needed in the amount of$34,557 from the Streets CIP — General Fund
(Fund 211) to fully fund the estimated cost of the roadway widening at 3520 Dennis
Drive.
