Substantially damage scenic resources, <br />including but not limited to, trees, rock <br />outcroppings, and historic buildings within <br />a State scenic highway? <br />c. In non -urbanized areas, substantially <br />degrade the existing visual character or <br />quality of public views of the site and its <br />surroundings? (Public views are those that <br />are experienced from a publicly accessible <br />vantage point). If the project is in an <br />urbanized area, would the project conflict <br />with applicable zoning and other <br />regulations governing scenic quality? <br />d. Create a new source of substantial light or <br />glare that would adversely affect daytime <br />or nighttime views in the area? <br />Environmental Checklist <br />Aesthetics <br />a. Would the project substantially damage scenic resources, including but not limited to, trees, rock <br />outcroppings, and historic buildings within a State scenic highway? <br />The Pleasanton General Plan and General Plan Environmental Impact Report (EIR) identify scenic <br />resources within and nearby Pleasanton as the undeveloped hillsides and ridges surrounding the <br />City to the north, east, west, and south, Mount Diablo to the north, major arroyos and creeks (e.g., <br />Arroyo de la Laguna, Arroyo del Valle, Arroyo Mocho, Alamo Canal, Chabot Canal, and Tassajara <br />Creek), and Shadow Cliffs Lake and the Chain of Lakes (former gravel quarries) at the eastern edge <br />of the City. The agricultural and open space uses to the south of the City also contribute to the visual <br />character of the community.
