Attachment 1
mEASA
DOWNTOWN
ASSOCIATION
January 28, 2022
Dear Pamela,
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Pleasanton Downtown Association I would like to thank you
for all your time and thoughtful efforts to ensure the 2022 Weekends on Main events meet the needs of
our downtown businesses and our community. We are grateful for the time spent working with the
advisory group and for all their valuable input.
Based on the input we have received from the community advisory group, our downtown restaurants
and retailers plus additional comments received over the months from others, the PDA recommends
and supports the following structure for the 2022 Weekends on Main.
• 1st Weekend of each month, May through December
• Street closure to begin at 4pm Fridays and extend until 9pm on Sundays
• The PDA is committed to providing programming during Saturday days to bring more
foot traffic to downtown and to increase the vitality of these events.
• PDA to work closely with restaurants & retailers on cross-promotion marketing and
other advertising opportunities.
• PDA to work closely with City Staff to ensure any activities planned for December do not
interfere with the parade & tree lighting.
• If successful this year, the PDA would support expanding to additional street closures
per month in the coming years.
We appreciate all the ongoing support of Downtown during these continually trying times and
extend our thanks to the City Council and City Staff. We look forward to a wonderful 2022 in
Downtown!
Best regards,
I3ItL aks
Laura Brooks
Interim Executive Director
Pleasanton Downtown Association
