8 THE CITY OF ° ' I ill CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT pLEASANTONL February 15, 2022 Engineering TITLE: ACCEPT OFF-SITE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY WORKDAY, INC. ON STONERIDGE MALL ROAD, FOOTHILL ROAD AND CANYON WAY SUMMARY Workday, Inc. constructed its main office building with an adjacent parking garage at 6110 Stoneridge Mall Road. The development necessitated improvements on adjoining properties at 6120 through 6160 Stoneridge Mall Road to the south, on BART property, on Nordstrom property across the road, and within the surrounding public road network. The development was entitled as a Planned Unit Development (PUD) originally under PUD-104 and PUD-81-22-14M, with subsequent modifications under PUD-104-1M and PUD-81-22-15M. The project was constructed in phases according to a public improvement agreement and three subsequent amendments. Work under the original agreement and first and second amendments was accepted by the City Council on January 21 , 2020. At the time, the improvements governed by the third amendment were still under construction. Work required by the third amendment is now complete and ready for acceptance by the City. The work included widening Canyon Way from two eastbound travel lanes to three eastbound travel lanes, widening Foothill Road and adding a left-turn pocket from Foothill Road to Canyon Way, and widening Stoneridge Mall Road to create a dedicated right-turn lane onto westbound Stoneridge Drive. Acceptance of these improvements signifies the completion of all obligations by Workday associated with their development, aside from the one-year warranty for all public improvements constructed. RECOMMENDATION 1 . Accept the remaining off-site public improvements constructed by Workday, Inc. on Stoneridge Mall Road, Foothill Road, and Canyon Way for permanent maintenance. 2. Authorize the City Clerk to release the following surety bonds: • Performance Bond 09293227 in the amount of $1 ,251 ,779 by Workday, Inc. 60 days after this action pursuant to California Government Code §66499.7; and • Labor and Material Bond 09293227 in the amount of $1 ,251 ,779 by Workday, Inc. 60 days after this action assuming no liens are filed; and • Maintenance Bond 09293227 in the amount of $125,178 by Workday, Inc. one year after this action assuming no latent defects are discovered.
