8 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> ° ' I ill CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONL <br /> February 15, 2022 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT OFF-SITE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY <br /> WORKDAY, INC. ON STONERIDGE MALL ROAD, FOOTHILL ROAD AND <br /> CANYON WAY <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Workday, Inc. constructed its main office building with an adjacent parking garage at <br /> 6110 Stoneridge Mall Road. The development necessitated improvements on adjoining <br /> properties at 6120 through 6160 Stoneridge Mall Road to the south, on BART property, <br /> on Nordstrom property across the road, and within the surrounding public road network. <br /> The development was entitled as a Planned Unit Development (PUD) originally under <br /> PUD-104 and PUD-81-22-14M, with subsequent modifications under PUD-104-1M and <br /> PUD-81-22-15M. The project was constructed in phases according to a public <br /> improvement agreement and three subsequent amendments. Work under the original <br /> agreement and first and second amendments was accepted by the City Council on <br /> January 21 , 2020. At the time, the improvements governed by the third amendment <br /> were still under construction. <br /> Work required by the third amendment is now complete and ready for acceptance by <br /> the City. The work included widening Canyon Way from two eastbound travel lanes to <br /> three eastbound travel lanes, widening Foothill Road and adding a left-turn pocket from <br /> Foothill Road to Canyon Way, and widening Stoneridge Mall Road to create a dedicated <br /> right-turn lane onto westbound Stoneridge Drive. Acceptance of these improvements <br /> signifies the completion of all obligations by Workday associated with their <br /> development, aside from the one-year warranty for all public improvements constructed. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1 . Accept the remaining off-site public improvements constructed by Workday, Inc. on <br /> Stoneridge Mall Road, Foothill Road, and Canyon Way for permanent maintenance. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to release the following surety bonds: <br /> • Performance Bond 09293227 in the amount of $1 ,251 ,779 by Workday, Inc. 60 <br /> days after this action pursuant to California Government Code §66499.7; and <br /> • Labor and Material Bond 09293227 in the amount of $1 ,251 ,779 by Workday, <br /> Inc. 60 days after this action assuming no liens are filed; and <br /> • Maintenance Bond 09293227 in the amount of $125,178 by Workday, Inc. one <br /> year after this action assuming no latent defects are discovered. <br />
