From: -
To: Jennifer Haden
Subject: Valley and Mission Shopping Centers
Date: Tuesday, December 7, 20218:32:37 AM
Jennifer Hagen, Associate Planner
Good morning. I wish to make a statement for the upcoming planning meeting addressing the rezoning of sites in
Pleasanton for future residential development.
I am a long term resident of Pleasanton and object to the rezoning of the Valley and Mission centers as they provide
currently valuable, essential, convenient and reasonably priced services to the thousands of residents that live near the
centers. Without the centers, we will be forced to drive all over Pleasanton and Livermore and maybe Dublin to find
similar services. Losing nearby neighborhood amenities reduces the appeal of living in Pleasanton. A viable
neighborhood is more than just housing but also requires businesses that provide services to the residents nearby.
The centers also provide a livelihood for numerous small businesses and and hundreds of employees. As a senior
citizen it is very important to have neighborhood shopping close to where I live.
High density residential projects should be placed closer to BART or on the periphery of the city and should not
replace existing retail. Also, the intersection of Santa Rita and Valley is the most congested intersection in the city and
we do not need more congestion at this location.
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in the planning process.
Sue Vigars
Click
hILP"jf%►►►► mailcon[roLwmlsrlvf6gMhKIIk-zH{;X?POPOmvtiItit iePnZAyD►vPZIUi7vNEv4n►rWIW71pyozKHb7i-D-
VA%%vMl .Sz►kriNrni7tO[ J7GWY-[ to report this email as spam.
