Economic Vitality Committee Input
At its January 20, 2022, meeting, the Economic Vitality Committee received an update
on the Downtown Parklet Program as approved by City Council and was presented with
the proposed Downtown Parklet Grant Program for input prior to Council's
consideration. Comments from committee members were broadly supportive of both the
parklet and grant programs. Several members also proposed expanding the grant
program to include restaurants throughout the city.
The grant program as drafted is specific to the downtown to coordinate with the
approved downtown parklet program, and staff recommends approval as proposed. If
the Council is interested in exploring grants for expanded outdoor dining elsewhere in
the city, at the Council's direction staff would provide options for review and
consideration.
S bmitted by: Fis al eview: Approved by:
P mels Ott Tina Olson Brian olan
A ing Assistant City Manager Director of Finance Interim City Manager
Page 4 of 4
