Livermore, and near Castro Valley, to identify locations with the greatest potential for
habitat corridors.
The second phase of research will provide the Open Space Committee with more in-
depth wildlife information to support its prioritization goals by doubling the camera
trapping effort, increasing the number of properties sampled, extending the geographic
reach of sampling, and sampling all seasons.
The Open Space Fund received approximately $1,784,890 in revenues from the
disposal fee in 2020. Five percent of this total is $89,244. Phase II of the project is
expected to conclude in May 2023. Assuming the Open Space Fund receives
approximately the same level of funding during the 2021 and 2022 calendar years, five
percent of the funds received over the two years together will cover the requested
$160,103. Phase II therefore remains within the five percent of funds received annually,
which is in conformance with the requirements of the Settlement Agreement.
Since the Committee does not have contract authority, the City of Livermore will
administer the contract for Phase II, as it did for Phase I of the project. There is no cost
to the City of Pleasanton for Phase II since Altamont Open Space funds will continue to
cover the contract costs with RCD. As indicated in the scope of work (Attachment 2),
RCD intends to return to the Open Space Committee in the future with a subsequent
request for funding for Phase III of the project.
Section 7.4.7 of the Settlement Agreement requires the Board of Supervisors and each
City Council to concur with the Advisory Committee's authorization of funding. For the
additional funds to be fully authorized and expended, City Council must take action to
concur with the Open Space Committee's authorization of funding. Alameda County
Board of Supervisors have already approved the proposed additional expenditure of
$106,103.
bmitt=: •y: Approved by:
. i ( A
1,—..V)42----
Fn Clark - Brian Dolan
Director of Interim City Manager
Community Development
Attachment:
1.
